EYC Cheer Important Information 

EYC Cheerleading is for girls ages 4-13. Our goal is to teach the girls the fundamentals of cheerleading while creating a fun environment for them to learn.

Our season runs from the beginning of August through the end of October/November based on playoffs / championships.

Practice days and times:

WeeHawks ages 4 & 5 are Thursday evenings from 6-7 PM.

Cheerleaders age 6-13 are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6-7:30 PM for the first 2 weeks of practice. After that practice will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-7:30. Our weeknight practices will end the last week of October.

The organization provides the below items that must be returned at the end of the season. These include:

  • cheer top
  • warm up jacket
  • cheer skirt
  • turtleneck
  • hair bow

Parents are responsible for purchasing boy shorts for under the skirt, cheer socks and kaepa cheerful sneakers. These items are available for purchase through Flying Feet on Mt. Rose Ave. During cooler weather, the girls will need plain black leggings under their skirt instead of boy shorts.

WeeHawks are provided with a Cheer dress, hair bows and warm up jacket which are returned at the end of the season. Parents are responsible for purchasing plain white sneakers, boy shorts, and a plain black long-sleeve shirt for underneath the Cheer dress as well as plain black leggings for when it becomes cooler outside.

During the season, we offer optional items to purchase. These are optional and NOT mandatory. These items include but are not restricted to - pink out shirts and pink out bows as well as bonfire T-shirts for our annual bonfire. These items will be discussed at practice during the season.


Practice Attire

Practice attire for all levels should NOT have pockets or zippers. Sneakers should be wore to practice they do not have to be the cheer sneakers any sneakers are fine for practice. Cheerleaders should be free of all jewelry including earrings.

FYI: Anything brought to practice or games should

have your child's name on it. Example: water bottles, bags, etc.

An introductory cheer squad for ages 4 & 5. If your daughter loves to cheer, but just isn't old enough to be a Lady Blackhawk this is the program for you.

Cost of WeeHawk Program: $80 and fundraising fee is $50

Wees must purchase white sneakers (preferably, but not limited to Kapea Cheerful cheer shoes), black boy shorts and cheer socks . All items available at Flying Feet on Mt. Rose Ave.

Parents are also responsible for purchasing black leggings and a WeeHawk sweatshirt . WeeHawks will participate in Homecoming and Pink Out. They will also perform at half time during each of their games.

EYC offers five levels of competition and the ages are broken down in the following groups:

WEEHAWKS 4-5 year olds
SMURF  6-7 year olds
RINK  8-9 year olds
PONY  10-11 year olds
MIDGETS  12-13 year olds

Cost of Cheer Programs:

Weehawks are $80 all other cheer levels are $100 and fundraising fee is $50.

Age requirements are as follows:
Each eligible participant must be between the ages of four (4) years old and thirteen (13) years of age as of August 31st. If you are a new registrant to EYC Cheer, please bring a copy (not the original) of your birth certificate to registration.

**EYC requires that background checks are performed on all staff including coaching staff and executive board members.

All cheerleaders must have a current physical prior to practicing or playing for the EYC Organization.


Scholarships are available to those families in need of financial aid. There are requirements that need to be met. Please check the website for information and forms.


1st 2 Weeks of practice Tuesday-Thursday, practices will be Tuesday & Thursday only after the 1st 2 weeks.


Schedule will be posted in mid-Aiugust No games will be scheduled Labor Day weekend.


There are mandatory fundraising requirements that need to be met.
